Lesson 3: Exploring and Running a Simple GoldSim Model
Time to complete Lesson 3: 30 minutes
The GoldSim interface is highly graphical. You create models by inserting icons that represent elements The basic building blocks with which a GoldSim model is constructed. Each element represents a feature, pararamer, process or event in the model. and then defining the inputs and outputs of each element. Once a model is created, you then define the simulation settings, and run the model. In Lesson 3, you will learn how to move around within the GoldSim interface by exploring a simple model. Specifically, you will learn how to:
- Use the GoldSim browser A view of a GoldSim model in which elements are displayed in a tree, and organized either hierarchically, or by type. and graphics pane The primary portion of the GoldSim interface, where the graphical depiction of the model is shown.;
- Open a context menu;
- Insert elements to create a model;
- Define an element's inputs and outputs;
- Open an element's properties dialog;
- Edit the simulation settings;
- Run a model; and
- View results.
