Although the standard elements The basic building blocks with which a GoldSim model is constructed. Each element represents a feature, pararamer, process or event in the model. incorporated within GoldSim can be used to build powerful and complex models, it was realized from the outset of the development of GoldSim that in some situations specialized elements and features may be required in order to efficiently model some kinds of systems. As a result, GoldSim was designed to readily facilitate the incorporation of additional modules (program extensions) to enable the program to address specialized problems.
Several modules are currently available:
- The Financial Module allows you to probabilistically simulate financial systems that include components such as accounts and funds, investments, options, projects or undertakings with specified cash flows, and insurance policies.
- The Reliability Module allows you to probabilistically simulate the reliability, availability and vulnerability of complex engineered systems over time.
- The Contaminant Transport Module provides specialized elements and computational features for simulating the movement of chemical constituents through natural and engineered environmental systems.
- The Distributed Processing Module lets you work more efficiently by running GoldSim models across a network.
